About the Words Individually category

Discussions about individual words, their suitability for Peoplese, possible autoknow or combination replacements. These discussions bring users deeper into the philosophy behind the language.:

* “lighthouse”. A word relative easy to remember – a plus. But a misnomer? A “house” is typically a residence for a family. Whether or not families still live in lighthouses, once upon a time the they did, thus legitimizing “house” So “lighthouse” can be categorized as a “good combination” word, therefore worth keeping. “Light tower”? Possibly a better word, but not an autoknow word, so not enough improvement to replace a word (“lighthouse”) with much history. Or what do you think?

* “bridge”, meaning a platform or tower from which a ship is controlled. Because “bridge” has another clear meaning, a structure allowing crossing an obstacle, eliminating the lesser known homonym would the language. Replace with what? Autoknow word anybody? Ship·tower"? But does “ship·tower” qualify as an autoknow word? – do we automatically know it’s meaning?
